Newly-elected Senator, Tom Rooney (R-Rolling Meadows), was sworn in on September 29, affirming his position in the Illinois General Assembly as the State Senator for the 27th District.

Section of Route 251 named in honor Witczak brothers

Signs along Route 251 from Tonica to Mendota in LaSalle County now tell motorists they are riding on the “Witczak Brothers Memorial Highway.” The highway signs were unveiled Sept. 28 during a ceremony hosted by State Sen. Sue Rezin (R-Peru) in Tonica.

DPH: Time Again For A Flu Shot

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is urging everyone six months and older to get a flu shot, not the influenza vaccine nasal spray, as soon as it’s available in your community. Due to concerns about how well the nasal spray vaccine has worked during the previous flu season, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) is temporarily recommending that people stick to getting a flu shot and skip the nasal spray.
